was wondering if someone could help me save a few bucks by leading the machanic in the right direction when he starts looking for the short that has shorted out my tail lights and interior dash lights. it would be great to let them know where to start instead of "spending" extra time looking for where the short would be.

Tell him which fuses blow.

That will point him in the direction of the circuits he will need to test.

Let him know under what circumstances the fuses blow, ie, immediately, occasionally, only when making a left turn on two wheels, or whatever.

Remember, he will be charging you by the minute, so be clear and concise (more so that your post requesting information here). Give him as full of a history as possible.

Good luck.
