I am having a problem with my tach. I was drive yesterday at 50 mph and the car bogged for about a few seconds and i didn't have any control over the motor and the tach dropped. I drove the car today and the tach was acting weird. It would work one second and the other it wouldn't. I don't know if the bogging has anything to do with it.( 4th gear doing 50 mph). If I drop it out of gear into neutral the tach worked fine. ?????

I had the same problem with mine.... exact same problem. you couldn't of explained it any better. I was on the freeway and then the bog of the motor and then the tac dropped out. After awhile the motor kicked in and the tack started working about 30 seconds after.
I think i'm going to say cps or grounding but i can't say for sure because it's intermitant. I noticed three out of the 4 times it's happened has been when the roads were flooded or it rained. However it did happen when it wasn't wet. I'm thinking crank shaft positioning sensor. I went out and bought Tripple A auto
P.S. never threw any codes
