Sounds like a short. That's usually what trips a fuse in the first place.

remove your cluster and check the connections on the back, maybe there is a intermittant short right there.

Which fuse have you been replacing?

What other loads are also supposed to run off that fuse? (See your owner's manual if you have it.)

Ok..here's the deal...this is gonna sound like the weirdest thing in the world....insteada just blowing fuzes all the time i would just put it in and only turn my key 1 turn to "update" the gas guage...and 1 day i forgot to take it out and of course it blew!!haha....then a cple days later i was gettin gas again..and i put a 10 amp instead of a 20 amp in the fuze box and i forgot to take it out again and that 10 amp fuze has been working for about a week now!!!explain that 1 to me?????hahaha...weird huh!!

You probably have an open circuit in the fuel sender circuit or a float that is stuck in the "full" position.

Probably a bad sender.

The guage in my 89 shows max full for 5-15 minutes after I start the car, then it goes to the correct reading (normally).

The sender unit should have a resistance of 22.5 ohms when the tank is empty and should read 145 ohms when the tank is full (per the 89 EVTM).
