I have my Sync system connected to my Blackberry. Every now and then I would push the steering wheel voice button to place a phone call. And, every now and then it doesn't work. This happened today. I had no control of my phone through the Sync system. So the whole ride home, I have to manually dial the phone numbers I needed to call, because Sync failed. When I got home, I turned off the car and restarted it. It started working again. Now, I know what you might be thinking.... all these problems, maybe its the driver. Well... I took a short video clip of me trying to get the system to work during my ride home. I am really beginning to hate this car.

Yes Bluetooth was turned on, that is why I showed the Bluetooth logo at the top of the screen. That shows that it is currently paired with a phone. I have the car scheduled for service on Tuesday. I have quite a list so far. Am I the only one with all the issues?

Looks like it but there is a very small sample size of owners posting here. I'd be frustrated if I were having as many problems with a new vehicle. I hope things get ironed out. It's good that you are here to post so others can be on the look out for potential problems.

Just take it to the dealer and see what happens. No point i ngetting all frustrated over a few bugs. Dont go into the dealership being a pain in the neck, that wont solve anything. We have had customers walk into our dealership with an axe to grind and they are just looking for problems with their car so they can complain about it.

We have others who walk in and just explain what the issue is and maybe demonstrate it. These people get things fixed quickly and since they are so understanding we usually give them a loaner car/free oil changes or other stuff.

Just remember to be nice when you are going through your 2010 SHO hate list that you have assembled.

Man you just can't seem to catch a break. Maybe it's time to look into asking for a different car? How many times does it have to be in for service before lemon laws take effect?

I don't know of any bluetooth system that has performed flawlessly with every phone, every time. I know this is just the latest in a long list, but I don't think this is worth much of a rant...

Hmm, this is the first I've ever heard of a SYNC system problem. You said when you restarted the car it worked and SYNC is powered by Microsoft so maye it's one of those Windows problems that magically fixes itself after a restart ;)

Hopefully the dealer can work things out for ya.

There are a few things that you need to know about Sync and Bluetooth. One is if you have more than one phone enabled, your phone may not be designated as primary. This could effect how the system recognizes your phone.

The second thing to know is that Ford has a site for Sync Owners to go to as a "first-contact" customer service center. Here is a Link to the Ford Sync site where you can sign up and register your vehicle. It also offers a lot of general information on the who, what when and hows of the systems.

I hate to say this, but it sounds like your sales rep was less than stellar in providing you a through overview of the Sync system. When I was selling, I would help my customers register their vehicles right when they were taking delivery. That way when a problem comes up, they have a 24hr/7day help line.

Good luck and hope this helps.:salute:

This is the most accurate statement here. The bluetooth stack on the blackberry is not flawless and may not connect sometimes automagically. Just watch when you get in your car, if the phone doesn't sync immediately, you have to connect it manually from the Blackberry bluetooth menu or "restart the car" like you said (which initiates another connect attempt from the SYNC headunit).

My Android 1.5 Samsung had about a 50% success rate on connecting, it was annoying, but it was definitely the phone...my new Nexus Android 2.1 phone has connected rather successfully most times. My work Blackberry Curve usually connected when I used it, but sometimes it wouldn't link. Similar behavior to the bluetooth system in my Prius.

BTW, make sure you have the most up-to-date OS on your blackberry provided by your cellular vendor.

Dude, new car problems = dealer. Done.

Ya not really Sean. Bringing a car in for warranty issues is far from fun and painless, so many times nothing gets fixed because the problems are intermittent. You then waste half your day at the dealership doing nothing and and getting nothing done to your vehicle.

It's annoying as ****.
