Just bought 2015. This is my 2nd SHO. Had a ‘10.
A little disappointed in the dash display. No digital speedometer, no TPMS for each wheel, and no AWD distribution gauge. Wife’s 15 Edge Sport has all of those. Considering a Sync 3 upgrade, but will that fix issues mentioned above. Anyone done this upgrade?
Ps- seen forum at flex site. Same but different. Want to confirm my model before dropping $1800

I have a 2016 with Sync 3 and I don't have the later 2, I do have the ability to show a digital speedometer on the left side of the standard one but I usually keep it set to tach.

I don't know why you would need the speedo with the large analog one in the center of the cluster. You should be able to add the AWD gauge with forscan.

The sync upgrade would need the hardware, including a new screen and USB port and can be done with forscan as well but I wouldn't attempt unless you have some skill to do so. Otherwise you are paying for parts and for someone else to program for you. The swap itself is not complicated otherwise.

Thanks for your input all! Just got used to a digital speedometer with my past vehicles and have it in wife's above mentioned Edge. Just surprised by its absence.

The Sync 3 upgrade comes pre-programmed from a couple of online places; just give them your VIN. If any missing connections, I have a VCM2 and access to IDS.

As with adding the AWD display, several forums have mentioned this. I went in with IDS and could not find that setting. Hunting and pecking with IDS can be dangerous.

The Torque app will show you individual tire pressures. You just need to make sure they are calibrated to the correct location when you do a tire rotation.

I don' know about the aftermarket, I'm a little concernd that the other hardware won't be compatible with the new APIM. For example the GPS uses data from the and module. Will the APIM be compatible with your audio control module or HVAC module. Will it get the necessary messages from the body controll module. These messages may be standard but I know the electrical connctions are different. The sync 3 APIM also has the GPS buil in so it needes an external antenna. The sync 2 system uses a separate from module.

Lots of questions to be asked.

It has been done without issue. I was not aware of needing a new GPS antenna is you are converting a car that had nav already but I may be wrong, I saw the prices and lost interest.

The Sync 3 that I'm looking at has pulled out of totaled 2016. With IDS, you can re-program them to fit a new VIN number. And it will require the GPS antenna as that is specific to the equipment; easy though as it is under dash mounted.

Will probably pull the trigger on this post-holidays. Also will report back to this thread with the results.
