Im finally getting around to working on my suspension because Im tired of the poor handling.

I started off by making a trip to the local junkyard, and I snagged a pair of swaybars for $45 :D , a 24mm for the front and a 26mm rear. Right now I have a 20.6mm front and 21mm rear. Based on my research, I think im going to go with the 20.6 in the front and 26 in the rear.
So I need a list of other wear parts that will need replacement. I want to replace anything and everthing that could be causing my poor handling. My car has 110K and the suspension is completly stock, it understeers heavily, floats around, turn in response is slow, and I have a half inch of play in my steering. Don't include springs and struts since I already have those picked out ;) .Also, I need to know the best place to get the parts. Thanks for the help :thumb:

All around:
New Strut-Rod bushings. Perfect Circle or Mcquay-Norris (Pepboys/AutoZone). Not Polyurethane and won't deform as easily.
Rear - Performance Suspension Technologies (PST) swaybar to body bushings. Graphite impregnated.
Hellwig end-link kit. Call them for the part numbers for a 9.5" center-to-center kit and order the parts from FPS.

Front - New PST or Greaseable bushings along with new end-link kits.
New subframe bushings. Least maintenance: Police Package ones (Check www.shotimes.com)
New reinforced motor mounts if you have an MTX.
Check your lower control arms/ball joints and your tie rod ends.

Your car will still lean somewhat less, but it will oversteer more than understeer with the 20.6mm front bar. went with a 22mm front bar from a '93 Sable ($25.-) on my 91.

Notice I do not recommend Energy Suspension bushings - Personal experience!

Regarding your steering, you will be totally amazed at the difference if/when you install aluminum sub-frame bushings...for $100, arguably one of the best mods you can make to the SHO...

And definitely replace the sway bar endlinks...I think I used Moog and am quite happy with them.

Good choice to stick with the 20.6" on the fronts and going with the 26" in back.

Do you plan on changing the struts/springs? If so, to save money yet still have quite an improvement many of us have gone with Tokico struts and Moog springs.

Then for further improvements, you can add sub-frame connectors and strut tower braces.

Of course, none of this has to happen all at once...you can always add an them once a month or more...I look forward to hearing about the changes and your experience!

i know for sure that the subframe bushings would help alot, I crawled under there the other day, and they are toast. I ordered up some rear swaybar bushings the other day from midwest sho, and should be getting them in a day or 2. Im also in the process of fabbing a front strut tower brace, so Ill see if that turns out ok, and if it helps a lot.

Also Im wondering if anyone has a picture of a rear h brace. I dont want to spend 70 bucks on something I could make. I just need a picture.

Josh at ShoNut has a very good parts list with part #'s for suspension overhauls. It has about everything on one page.
