I plan on putting some KYB's on my gen II this weekend. My suspension is terrible. I can feel every bump and crack in the road. Also while going over each, i keep hearing metal rattling. How do i know if need new springs too and what else would i need to replace?

If you have clunking noises over bumps and feel even small dimples in the pavement, the upper strut mounting brackets may also be worn and need replacing. The front are $26 each through Ford and are removed when replacing the struts. When these wear out, the strut does not stay centered (moves inboard) in the rubber bushing and the metal insert in the rubber can strike against the bottom of the upper strut tower. This causes the clunking and will also create more negative camber resulting in greater inner tire wear.
