If you're revving past 2500rpms at the dragstrip, you're either running slicks or spinning a LOT. I've always granny launched, spun and STILL got crappy 60ft times.
So Tim. I take it your computer is working now?

Next time you want to see how high it revs, do it while driving. You don't even know how bad that is for your engine! I feel bad reving my ATX past 3500.

Then how'm I sposed to do them tire roasting burnouts SHOs are known for?

i had this same problem bit i had a spec stage 3 but i was drag racing and missed 3rd gear hit the rev limiter and stepped back on the clutch jammed it into gear tried to keep going but the vibration told me to stop. when i got to my shop and pulled the tranny out it had a broken pressure plate strap. the pressure plate is out out round and causing the vibration i also did this with a stock clutch but that was 2nd gear and that time i just bent a strap but same result alot of shaking and the shifter is really hard to move while car is running. best to just do a clutch job and youll see thats most likley what this problem is, but you prolly toasted your tob too so make sure to replace it and the quill sleeve too. hope i could be some help good luck if this is your first tranny pulling experience. it gets easier!

Hey thanks for the advice. I should be getting a spec stage II this week. Don't know if im brave enough to do it myself though. Also about your stage III, are you saying that it still doesn't matter what clutch you have that will still happen?

I know that the Clutch Masters Stage 1 clutch that I have the new pressure plate is rebuilt with thicker straps and larger rivets. Clutch Masters in the rear stock in the front on the attached pic below:

the stage 3 had aolt of miles on it, alot of really hard miles on it i actually did the same thing, missed second gear and jammed it back in just like before about a week ago and the stage three plus didnt miss a beat! and i still havnt even had that clutch slip at all, even after a sat. night of drag racing and driving really hard. i think youll be fine with the stage three. it chatters too much cause its a puck style but if your not a wuss youll be fine with it i was fine with it. the above pic is about what the spec pressure plate looks like too.

Ok so you guys were right the pressure plate straps started to come apart and were hitting on the bell housing. It is a good thing I decided to have the car towed to the shop because if I had of drove it any longer it would have come through the case.
Also the tech who tore my tranny out (who has also worked on many sho's) said that he noticed the differential was heavier duty than most he had seen. Now he has gathered this info by looking into the case through the cv joint holes (whatever those are called) but this was relayed to me through the shop manager so I didnt speak to the tech directly since he had the tranny out. He did mention to me, before he tore it out that welding the diff pins was an option.

I do know my car doesnt have a quaife and the only other thing I know of is those phantom grip things.
Like I said I still need to talk to the tech personally before I make any conclusions. Just curious if that makes any sense to you guys.

If you guys get a sec check out my thread about parts issues concernig this install. thanks

This is why I trailer my car to and from the drags. Oh yeah, I carry 3 CV shafts as well. Damn you 375HP Yamaha, Quaife, and drag radials!

Two spider gears are removed (weakening the diff further) and two friction blocks with springs installed in place of the removed spider gears.
