Are there any SHO specific kits on the market? If not what are the Recommendations from fellow members of this forum to put something together. Also . What would you do to the motor in general to get it beefed up for such equipment.

What would be better a Turbo or Charger and Why ?

Shoshop in CA., and FPS in GA. sell and install complete s/c kits for the v6 sho.
Approx. $4500 for the kit and $1000 for install.
A 6 psi blower wouldn't mandate beefing up the internals of the engine. Heck, 9 psi MAY not either. Of course, it all depends on how much you beat on it, and where your addiction ends. 18-20 psi? :naughty:
Of course the tranny may need some attention: Quaife. This is arguable though. ($1200 plus labor) If you like to do burnouts, then it will be a necessity. However, some s/c'd shos have done quite well without a quaife.
S/C kits have been around much longer. Turbos are pretty much DIY. Either one will give you a rush

I notice FPS has shaft driven superchargers. I have never seen this. Sorry if I sound dumb but why?...lol

Here are some pictures of an FPS setup:

It is arguably a lot easier package to work on than the SHO Shop setup. It mounts the MAF sensor pre-blower and doesn't use a 4-foot long crossover pipe right above the hot radiator either. Unforutnately, it also costs a very pretty penny... Which is probably why the kit is not as popular as the SHO Shop setup. Adding to this is the refusal of FPS to sell the kits without letting them install it. With the tuning options available now, it would make more sense to sell the kits without forcing someone to drive or have their car shipped to Atlanta. I'm perfectly capable of installing it myself, and would rather not pay someone else to do it. If the kit was available without them installing it, I would be much more likely to buy one.

can't believe my post got deleted for making a silly joke. Pluuuuuuuuueeeezeee!

You can go with a 9lbs from SHO SHop and have fun with it all day long. A quaife if nice but not absolutely necessary as some may tell you. I've seen one run for over a year w/o a quaife.

If you go F/I have an daily driver around because it will be a catalyst for other things that might be going out. Also definately replace your rod bearings.

Actually, we're working on a DIY'r kit. I've redesigned our shaft drive system with an incased shaft drive system that will make installation in the driveway a LOT easier.

We're doing one right now for a guy in MI. The car is here in Atlanta, but we'll be getting it ready soon.

Stay tuned.

It's still gonna be pricey at $4500, but you'll be able to install it in your garage in a few (5-6) hours. The kit will include the blower, new shaft drive system, belts and belt drives, plumbing, brakcets. The upgrade will include injectors, MSD, MAF and tuning for an additionsl $2000 for a total of $6500. This will be for ATX and MTX cars.

Doug, when you include "tuning" in that $2000, that is implying that the car is in Atlanta, correct? Would people installing it themselves be SOL in that regard? Would there be a discount? Or are you throwing in a TwEECer? :naughty:

Tuning is thru SCT (don't use or care for Tweecer).

The coolest thing about SCT is that when you use the right stuff, the tuning is easy.

When odd ball parts and pieces are cobbled together, you have to hunt for the tune. Like if you use a different MAF or different injectors, you have to hunt for the right curves. It's easy enough with the right tools, but it means I have to have my butt in the seat.
For those that want it, I want to send a box of goodies that all fit together, then plug this chip in and go beat the snot out of all the Mustangs, Comaros and Corvettes you can find.
