Seems like I've been the host of several club picnics over the past several years. I don't think I hosted one last year... I may be wrong; I am getting older ;)

Now that renovations to my house are done, I'm just wondering if there's any interest in doing another picnic this summer, as it doesn't hurt to plan early. I'm thinking somewhere around the weekend of June 18th or 25th.

Anyone interested?

Hey MiKe  Don't get out your way much, I think you have a good idea.I'd be willing to caravan with anyone on this end that hasn't been to your place before. Had a good time last time I went :thumb:

I live in Hatfield... just to the north of Northampton. Our last picnic, we wanted to do a nice spirited :naughty: ride through some of the nice back country roads in the area. But with people showing up at all sorts of times, things got complicated. And, with people commuting from all over the area, there just wasn't time to go out for a 45 minute spin en masse. Maybe we could make another attempt at that this year.

Glad you had fun when you and the family were out here Ken. It's designed as a family/significant other type deal and a chance for all of us to sit back and relax, grab some BBQ and throw the car talk around.

Another idea a couple of us had a while back, was a Pan-Mass / Pan-New England drive for charity. Start off in one end of the state and drive completely to the other end; or make one big loop going through all 6 states in one day. A back-burner idea for now.

Last summer Fred H. hosted the picnic/BBQ at his company's office in Norton.

I haven't heard mention of any plans for this summer, but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to get something in the works. IIRC, last year it took place in late June, which seemed like a pretty good time to have it and we had a lot of people show up.

Well, if there's enough interest, we should do it again. Let's plan for late June then, and firm something up in a few weeks.

BTW, I just love this smiley: :hpoop:

Been looking forward to your picnic since I first heard of it years ago :thumb:

Is the date still open? If so I'd like to cast a vote for the 25-26th!

Looks like I'm going to set the date for Sunday, June 26th for the picnic. It's currently the next weekend day I'm not scheduled to work, so that will have to do. I'll have more info as the date approaches, and if anyone needs directions or GPS coordinates ;) , just let me know as we get closer to that day.

It will be the usual Grilling fare... burgers, dogs, etc.... maybe some bratwurst and wings too. You can bring something if you'd like, but it's not required. It is a BYOB event.

Someone want to talk to the NESHOC guru's to get the date posted on the site or on the newsletter? Does NESHOC still have a newsletter?

I don't know how you do it. This is the umpteenth time you've scheduled this the same time I have a yearly religious convention that I will not miss.

The good thing is that it is held at the Mullin Center, so if you guys don't mind a dressed up, late, non-SHO owner, I'll try to make it.
