I believe that my brakes are to the point now where my only alternative is to get them re-done. I have decided to re-do the ENTIRE brake system all together. I am turning to you guys for help. Here are my Questions:

1.What are the best brakes I can get for my SHO?
2.How much are they gonna run me?

You guys have always been great when I needed help. I need your opinions on this. Also, if the best brakes are too steep in price, what are the best ones to get on a budget?

Thanks

for the front do the 96 upgrade, better brakes and you can do it urself for about 200 bux.

get the loaded calipers with ceramix pads from napa (the ones without the ceramix pads SUCK) (for a 95 continental), just make sure the caliper brackets have FN74 stamped on them.

and some brake rotors from napa or auto zone (for a 2001+ taurus/sable, or 95 continental) thats whats on the 94 and they are a GREAT improvement.

and for the rears, ummm go with stock replacements? no clue about the "performance" ones, stock suits me quite well.......

You're kidding right?

He didn't ask "what's the best deal I can get for some decent brakes for my SHO?" He asked; "what's are the best brakes I can get for my SHO?'"

Rather large difference there.

While the 96 upgrade is a fine way to get a 'best deal' it's foolish to consider this the 'best' brake set up you can get for the SHO. Most of you by now know I'm going to say the SHOstopper kit from me, but I will also add the Baer kit to this as well.

Granted, when the dust settles he didn't tell us what he was willing to spend for 'the best brakes I can get for my SHO' and in fact the 96 kit might be all he can spring for. There are some gaping holes in this thread.

(Sorry.)

Also not mentioned was if the car was going to be a track car, and was it going to be going on 17 plus inch rims, if not then again what i mentioned is the best deal for a street SHO and for the money. :bonk:

But it's all good Todd, the person asking the question will get answers from many and from different view points and he may get enlightened on something he wasn't even aware of. :salute:

TCE SHO Stoppers. Period.
2.How much are they gonna run me?
Somewhere in the middle of $1000 and $2000 depending on what options you choose. Closer to the lower number for the base kit with 12.2" rotors that will fit a car with 16" wheels. Closer to the higher number (and possibly above!) for a 13" kit with upgraded calipers. Go to http://www.tceperformanceproducts.com for exact pricing.

96 brake upgrade. If your budget is REALLY steep then better pads for your existing brakes and get stickier tires next time.
Your welcome.

Thanks for pointing me at a few different options guys! I'll see what my next check looks like and that will decide if I opt for the $2000 kit or if i go for the 96 upgrade. Once again, thanks for all the help !

This is a shameless plug for the 13" kit for $475 over in the group buys. Bolts up to the 94/95 caliper just like the 96 kit, but you need 17" wheels (you wanted 17" wheels didn't you? :D )
