Guys,

I'm thinking about getting the SHO windows tinted up before the summer sets in.

Any recommendations on where to get it done? I don't want to spend a fortune, but as it looks like I'll be keeping the SHO for a long time (unless Chuck suceeds in pushing me towards the F150 HD truck) I don't want a cheap nasty job either.

Thanks,

Rav.

Bit of a trek from Chandler to Flagstaff. Anyone suggest a place closer?

At first I thought it would be kinda ghetto, but the guys at park and swap tinted my friend's 4Runner and did a very, very nice job and it wasn't real expensive.

I keep telling him to sell me the car and I would tint the windows if he would go ahead and buy the 2002 Harley F-150.

I'd honestly try it myself. I think if you have patience you can do a great job. There are only two things holding me back. 1. Money (big surprise) 2. The rolls at autozone or checker aren't wide enough to do the rear window in one strip. You'd need to get that line really close.

I worked at VW for a while and the guy that did all the cars that get onto the lot said he's charge me 100. Thats for a factory tint job too! They normally charge an extra 300 for tinted windows. Too bad they screwed me over and I don't even want to go there again...I'd deffintly hook you up.

You could always call around and ask for prices and then go down the their place and look at some of the finished cars.

Diamond Autoglass is down in the valley too as they have a guy come up the hill to do the tints. 189 bucks. Lifetime guarantee for bubbles and peels. Looks sweet on my car.

Stick with a place that has been around for awhile and offers at least a ten year written guarantee and you should be alright.

Thanks guys. I'll check out some of those leads.

'DVJ38' could you let me know what VW dealer that was, I would like to check out that option too.

Chuck we had a discussion about you buying the SHO, would be really weird. But don't worry if it ever gets to that stage you'll have first dibs.

It's right near my house, I'm out in Avondale. Not sure if they can do cars other than VW's, especially if they don't know you. He did quote me for 100 for my car, and if you're interested I could go back there and talk to the guy that did it. Choices are 35%, 20%, and limo.

The dealership tacks on 300 to the sticker if the windows are tinted. He said he'd do mine for $100, not sure if he'll do someone elses though.

Just let me know and I'd stop down there for you. See you Saturday though if you are going to make it.

Yep hoping to make it on Saturday, if I can shed some of this crazy workload.

So I might see you there.
