ok so this is a new one. changing a fuel pump on a 99 and the fuel tank is covered in what looks like either sugar or salt. it is all over the bottom and in the plastic basin that the pump sits in. please tell me this was vandalism and not some wierd chemical reaction.

Looks like somebody didn't watch the mythbusters episode where they showed that sugar won't **** an engine.

Saw that episode, and haven't had that fear since...LOL...not that I would have in the first place, but you know what I'm sayin.

I'm just sayin!!!

To be fair though, in the engine they used... I don't think a brick in the cylinder would've killed it.

Make syrup out of it, and put it in the engine in place of the oil. Kero corn syrup works best.. Think of carmalizing apples.... heat it up, mix it real good, then it cools down and hardens all around your rod bearings, and mains... fun times at next start up...

so I'm told.. I haven't actually done this... do wanna try it tho.. :)

And also... if you get a locking cap.. make sure to keep the gas door closed.. or keep a small screwdriver inside your car... they are fun to get open if they are iced up in the winter time... had that issue with my truck once.. :) Couldn't get the damn key in the thing and I was pretty far from home.. :)
