Has anyone installed a subwoofer in the open 6x9 space in the rear deck between the craptory speakers?

unfortuately I have the cost cutting 97' with no sub. Do you think I could purchase a sub that would fit in that space from an aftermarket retailer or would I have to get it from Ford?

I cut out the standard 6x9 hole to accomodate a MTX Kicker Solo-Baric S8L7. It sounds great w/ 300 watts pushin' it. Now if I can only get a custom made rear strut tower to fit around it??? hummmmmm

I would not go with a 6x9.

Use up a bit of trunk space and buy a 10" or 12" and put it in a box like I did.

MTX here. The lows are awesome...not enough to break the windows, but perfect for my listening pleasure.

You can add any sub to a V8SHO system. Just have to have the right $15 RCA Converter. Splice into the rear speaker wires and you're done.

I mounted my amp onto the back of the box. Can't even see it.

I'll try and upload a couple pics to my page in the next day or two.

Just my opinion

Edited to add: My total cost installed was $375 for a 12". This included a lifetime guarantee on the install.
