ok guys I have had these subs in this car for a while and i cant take the rattling of the trunk anymore. Its not the licence plate or the spoilier have any of you guys figured out what rattles around the rear of the car. I think some of it is my bumper, but is there anything else? Do the tailights rattle at all?

i have found that the top fabric cover over the rear speakers under the windows shakes/rattles. i put felt and rubber sticky backed pads over some of the corrners that shook. also i zip tied wires so that they dont hit metal as much. also my trunk lid vibrates when it is closed...need dynamat to fix that

hope that helped a little

It's just the sheet metal on the car. Your best bet is to layer the trunk with DynaMat or it's equivlent. Other'n that, you're gonna be SOLJWF (s**t outta luck and jolly well f****ed). It gets worse when your roof vibrates and rattles...

hahaha roof that would really **** me off. Yeah my sun roof cover vibrates a little bit on certain notes but not enough to annoy me its my trunk lid that vibrates probably the sheet metal. how do i get dynomat to stop that where do i put it. I have ziptied wires as well liek the trunk latch release cable.

You can get dynamat almost anywhere there's an electronics store that sells car audio like best buy, circuit city, or tweeter. expect to pay alot though, i think it goes for like $40 for a roll that only covers a few square feet. the foam is not worth it because it costs more and you use it up quicker. you don't need to put it everywhere, just cut small pieces of it and apply it to the metal that rattles the most to the least. i'm not sure how much they are but scosche makes something similar called accumat and there's other brands i can't think of. there's some cheaper alternatives like the tack and insulation they use for a/c ducting in houses.

also if you do find out that your roof vibrates dynamat makes all sorts of things and they make a thinner version of their material called tacmat that is thin enough to fit in between your headliner and roof. it also insulates your car from heat/cold too. they got tons of stuff like plating and hood pads too.

also if you have a hookup at any of those stores, get them to buy it. i know employees at best buy get the $40 roll for like $11.

Dynamat is nice stuff, but not cheap. A low cost alternative would be to use some soft foam, the kind you ship delicate electronics like computer monitors in. The stuff that looks like egg crates works best. Lift the carpet up, put that below and squish the carpet back down. I use this and have no rattles at all except the annoying liscence plate, I never did figure a way to get that to stop rattling a little. The spray in is easier to use, but almost permanent
