I got a question for you guys. 2 weeks ago i put a new tranny in my car and of course subframe and everything had to come down. Now in my driving i notice horriable play in the steering and when i downshift or hit the brakes hard my shifter vibrates. I know i need a front end alignment, but is it possiable that the subframe is out of line? Does the subframe have to be lined up to spec? Thanks!!

I believe so...

I would get the subframe aligned as well when you get your alignment. There should be some alignment holes that should line up. Then you can do the normal alignment.

Get everything lined up properly then see if the problem persists.

Yes, if the subframe bolts are loosened, you have to do an alignment. YOur suspension is attached to it, so it's likely all gimpy if you drop the subframe.

An alignment is definately in order. As others said, there are alignment holes that are used to locate the correct alignment. When you get your alignment done, the subframe will be aligned as well, unless the person doing it is completely incompetent.

If you take it somewhere to get this done make sure to ask if they will align the subframe. I've heard of people having trouble getting it done at some shops.
