Well, I was told that it has a stuck lifter.... ??? Tapping from the top end and an oil leak.
SHO's do not have lifters, it most likely needs a valve adjustment.

Its had a rough life inside the car and Im Ebaying for some interior trim pieces now. Fun Fun...
Depending on what parts you need and if I still have them, I have some interior pieces for free! The interior pieces I have are mocha/tan, though.
I picked it up yesterday on a trailer and brought it to my shop where I guess Im gonna go over the whole car.
I guess Ill do fluids, plugs, etc etc.... From my understanding I should also do the scheduled maintenance. The 60,000 mile value adjustment and such.
Looks like you already know how to work on cars then!

Yes, it would be smart to do the valve adjustment. There's a member on here, SHOBill, who will sell you a new set of stainless steel valve adjustment tools for $60 shipped. Other than that, you will need to find some valve shims, as you can reuse them by flipping them over. Best bet is to find someone parting out a car, pull them from a junk yard SHO, or find some new ones from a Yamaha Dealer. No one around here lends them, you have to pay them to do your valve adjustment. I would lend you mine, but some are pretty new and it's 60k time on 2 of my SHO's.
I dont know alot about the cars, just stumbled across this one and figured it would be fun so here I am learning about the SHOworld! lol
Where in Fort Worth are you located? I live in Saginaw... 820 and 35w. My shop, where the SHO rests, is in Haslet. Right off 287.
They're not too much different than other cars, and seem much easier to work on than most.
South Fort Worth, 20 & 35.
