Well after my brand new tranny is in now the damn shifter starts acting up. It simply won't disengage from park. i push in the brake and nothing happens. the button on the shifter handle won't depress completely. We suspect that it may simply be a problem with the shifter linkage. any one have the same problem or know of any other possible conflicts? thanx thumbs_u

I had that problem, It was intermittant. I finally got stuck for 15 minutes, so when I finally got it to shift, I went home and took the center console out and disconnected the brake lock cable, (don't know what it's really called, mind blank) but it works fine now! the only thing is it shifts without stepping on the brake-no big deal!

Wel we replaced the brake sensor attatched to the pedal today, with no luck. The brake lights still will not work and the damn thing still won't get out of park unless you sneak up on it... I can still drive it but i'd really like to get to the bottom of it. One of about 5 things that broke on the SHO this week. At least the door spring will be an easy fix...

removing the brake lock cable does work, but im wondering that causes the brake lock cable to bind in the first place. simply removing something cause you cant figure it out doesnt really work for me.
