It should be still in the archives somewhere. People were using ones for a Neon IIRC.

Yeah, people were using Neon bars with some modification. But the reason they were doing that was because there weren't any commercially available STBs at the time. Now you can get one from ShoSource that's $150 - a very reasonable price for a very stout STB. Frankly I'd recommend you go that route - no modifications needed, and - let's face it - most Neon bars are shit.

Also, I highly recommend the hood strut relocators. Without it, you'll be reduced to using a piece of wood (or a broom handle) to prop your hood open, and that's not very cool, now is it?

I have a neon strut tower bar that I had for sale. Its a OK peice but thats it. Its not as sturdy as the SHOshop unit that is on Ashley's car. I took it off the market for that reason and some rust on the threads. The SHOsource/Keystone Powdercoating STB looks to be a very nice piece.

I can absolutely vouch that it is. I have the front and rear units on my wife's 95 ATX and the fit, finish and quality of them is excellent. The bar has heim joints on either end that allow front to back rotational movement, but don't be mistaken - it doesn't budge side to side, which is the only important direction. The powdercoating on them is great (they're manufactured by Keystone Powdercoating Inc, who make a number of well powdercoated SHO parts [the intake on my wife's car was powdercoated by them]), and they really transform the car.

I thought just the front bar made a huge difference (and it does), but it's the rear bar that really wakes the car up. With just the front bar, turn-in is very sharp and controlled, but settle-in in the rear is still squirrely, which can be unnerving. With the rear bar in place, it honestly feels like the car is being shoved around by the hand of God, not four too-narrow tires. The feeling is other-worldly. You ever see guided missiles changing direction in flight? that's what it feels like.

Of course, the 21/26mm sway bars don't hurt, but ye Gods, is the STB a huge difference.

So yes, it's almost $400 for the front and rear bars, and the hood strut relocation kit and shipping and whatnot, but I will tell you right now, that is the biggest gain for $400 you will ever see on that car.
