If I am replacing the front srtut bearing on my Gen 2 do I have to replace the bearing plate too or can I just replace the bearing?

You can replace just the strut bearing.

Most will suggest replacing both, since you have to break-down the strut assembly.

Matt from SHO Source just told me the same thing about 5 minutes ago. It would be to your best interest to do so.

Yeah, it's good to replace both. May as well replace both since you're taking it apart. Replacing just the bearing can cause extra wear on the plate since it'd have to work harder.
