My buddy has just got an 89 SHO. He got a **** of a deal on it imo. 700 dollars and it has 130 on the clock. The 120k looks to have been done and the engine bay is one of the cleanest ive seen. The intake doesn't even have any polished spots from bad motor mounts.

Anyways, we went to go top the oil off a bit and the oil cap would just free spin in the vc. Anyone encountered this before? The only solution i can think of is to get another vc and oil cap. Any other ideas?

Stab it through the side & spin off. Sometimes using a regular screwdriver & prying up gently while turning will help it grab.

If you pull the VC off, you can cut the cap off & spin the plastic threads out & just put another cap on.

Get the top part to pop off, and get a pair of channel locks on the inner part. I would imagine that if you work with it a while you will figure a way to get it off.
