In the recent weeks my SHO has felt a little sluggish, But in a sense that it feels like it has the power, but just not tapping in to it. I was looking around in the engine, and notice my throttle calbe has some slack on it. How much slack is supposed to be on the throttle calbe? Not much I imagin in order for the TB to open up all the way, But I dont really know. What do you think?

-Sam

P.S., Car has its second 60k done, is well maintained, etc etc.

Look in the throttle body while someone presses the gas pedal to check to see if you are getting WOT. If you need a throttle cable, you will need to source one from a junk yard.

I know someone who used clamp on fishing weights to take up the slack in his cable. It worked until he found one from a JY to replace it with. Its worth a shot!

its not hard, just take a look inside the throttle body, the butterfly should be opening up completely under wot. if not then either your pedal or the cable is messed up.

I got mine from the junk yard and it was much better.

They changed them for 93-95. The 92 are the same as Gen1s.

The cable should have some slack on it if you push it down with your finger where it meets the TB. Since the only sping in the system is at the TB itself, when you push on the cable anywhere else, you will just be pushing on a slack cable.

As others have said, the only way to tell is to look at the throttle blade while someone else pushes the pedal to the floor.
