Just got off the phone with my insurance company, because the damage was vandalism it will probably be a comprehensive claim, meaning only $100.00 deductible. But because of all the hail and wind damage in our area, it may take a bit before an adjuster can look at the car. I don't mind because it gives me more time to decide how to handle this. However, just found out today that an old family friend, who I helped with his SS/FA 70 'Cuda passed away yesterday. So I have a pretty heavy heart as I write this...

Finally, some good news, my insurance company has authorized repair to my car. I have even found a body shop that will guarantee their paint for life (in writing) and I also discovered that they do paintless dent repair. I will be taking the car to them tomorrow for an estimate and see what they think. So it looks my dents will be gone in the near future.

Sorry to hear of your friend's passing, Mark. I too have been a little distracted lately with a friend's passing....one I've had since the '50's.
Let's hope they're in a better place now.:)

Sounds like you're getting a handle on the vandalism damage to the SHO.
If it can be included in a comp claim then it won't affect your rates or premiums. G/L

New stripes

On a more positive note I got new SHO stripes for the hood (in grey) same as Mark's (and thanks Mark -- I know how much of an issue mailing is these days -- very much appreciate the effort bro) -- see his pics above.

Took a pic of the package and its contents -- Gee it was just like my birthday.

I see you mailed them a month ago. Our postage strike is over now and they're just getting caught up.

Got the tips on install and will trim as you did and do a wet install.

Did you do the wet? Would seem better for positioning.

Cheers my friend --- As soon as I get them installed I'll post pics.
Colin.

(lol, never mind the Revolution for the pooches and other mail on the table -- didn't edit the pic)

I believe doing them wet will allow for perfect positioning and a very nice finish. My new set will be put on when the hood gets repaired at the end of the month. Can't wait to see your stripes installed.

I think I'll go that route -- seems to be a little more forgiving for a newb.

Cheers, I'll get that in on my busy schedule soon. :p

We have 3 limestone quarries in town with lots of rock trucks pulling pups. I got hit in February with my Ranger and it put a nickle sized dent similar to yours on my hood. And cracked my windshield.

Luckily mine is right at the leading edge and could be hidden by bug visor. Good luck with whatever happens.

Thanks, the car goes to the body shop on July 25th, couldn't get it in any sooner because we had a ton of cars that had hail damage. Will post some before and after photos when I get it back.

The waiting must hurt Mark, but she'll be pristine when done.
Can't wait to see pics of her all prissied up.

Monday the car goes to the body shop...they say 3 or 4 days until she's done...it will be torture waiting to get it back....will let you know when it's back in my grubby little mitts. I think I'm almost as nervous as I was when my son was born!

Damn, Mark....it seems like an eternity since that damage happened.
I'll bet next weekend can't come soon enough.

Good luck with repairs. I suspect the dealer knows how fussy you are and will take all the necessary precautions. Try not to worry.......

Little baby SHO will come back to Daddy brand spankin' new and ready for the road again.

Car was delivered to the body shop this afternoon. I do feel better about the repair since speaking with the shop manager today. Now it's just waiting to get it back.:munch:

I still have that 3m bra in my garage when you get your car back if you're still interested. Send me an email and I will send some pics.

:woo-hoo: Just got back from picking up the car! Hood looks great, I think they did a great job, I'm sure happy that the war wounds from the stones are gone. Now to keep it looking great. I will post photos as soon as a take a few, but as usual for my family, wifey has the camera stashed somewhere and I don't even know where to begin looking for it.

Good work, glad you found your car back in good shape! Enjoy it and good luck for not getting any more of those stones on the hood!
