I have a '94 manual and I am thinking about getting Eibach springs and Tokicos. Does anyone know what the stock or factory spec ride height is so I can measure how much the stock springs have sagged? Someone told me it should be in the shop manual but I do not have one.

Thanks,

Dave

Thanks Jeff!!

This is exactly what I was looking for. Now I have a base line to see where my car will sit when I get Eibachs installed. For reference, the rear is 1" low and the front is right on the original spec.

Ok its weird, if it was 15" all around stock, why does rear always look lower on all Tauri's? even SHO's?

BTW I went to measure my SHO today and I got 12.5" upfront and 13.2? Whats weird is the rear b/c I always thought I had 1.30" drop instead of the new 1.75". But if I did it right which i'm sure i did b/c of the correct front measurement of 2.5" would that just prove the rear is just slow or that the fenders are smaller?

half-way there, I think.

The rear springs in all Tauri are POS's. I would find it highly unlikely that anyone has ever seen a Taurus at true stock height - even new.

That is a understatement. Also the main reason that many times you hear of lowering springs actually raising the car. Even with my SS springs the drop wasn't the full effect because my stock were so shot.

You didnt get lower 2.5"+ inches upfront with the SS springs? Thats what I got with my set and my new drop of 1.75" in the rear. Guess it goes to show you the quality of SS squint .

don't forget the rear fenders are different than the front fenders. It's an optical illusion. The rear isn't lower, the sheet metal is designed to be lower.

RI-SHO, almost forgot. Here is a pic of the car. I will get the fender to wheel center specs for you to at full drop (pics are 12 turns up).

Puttin Eibachs in my SHO dropped it about 1" in front and about 1.5" in the back. I still have the original springs and they are like new. But I like the ride alot better with the Eibachs. You can crank it back and forth and crack your friend's knee caps together... Heh heh heh... :D

With the coilovers set at what you see in the pics, the fronts are 13.75, the rear 13.25. I can go about 1.5 lower on the front and about 1.75 on the rear, but the front needs to go down a bit to give the car the stance I want in relation to the rear (or the rear go up).

So at most all you can get is 12.25" upfront? Because I get a 12.5" measurement upfront with my SS springs. I always thought the coilovers would get lower*sighs* guess i'll use the coilover money I had for performance mods.

Depends on your spring rate. Besides, with the car all the way down, the exhaust hits on the control arms. Also, the Coilovers wiegh close to 40 lbs less than your setup, and the car handles GREAT. Buy them. Get some crazy stiff springs and you can go low enough to ruin your halfshafts.
