Well I have been trying to read up on what might be my problem. For anybody that does not know what is going on (I have posted on this subject before), I am experiencing power loss in lower RPMs. The funny thing is, it is really bad when I first start my car and go (cold engine), but it gets a little better as I drive for a while. When I first start the engine and I put it in 1st gear, I am lucky if it goes at all. I have to floor the gas to get the RPMs up, then I have to pop the clutch. Even then it goes a little then the RPMs drop and the engine will almost stall. It does this until the engine is warm, then it will go, but with very little power. Once I hit 4000 RPM, I'm gone. Cant figure it out. I am gonna replace my front main seal next week, so I will check for crank cancer. I am trying to see if it might be my fuel pump, but from what I read on this site, its not the prob. I will try to keep everybody posted as to what I find out.

Thanks

But he said above 4,000 rpm that he's gone. Blocked cats would affect the higher rpms much more than the lower ones. Same goes for the fuel pump.

It sounds as if the longer primary intake runners were not allowing much air to pass. Once the secondary runners open at 4,000 rpm, the engine could then breathe. Unless you have left rags or cleaning material in the runners, there is nothing else to obstruct them. I sure wish that I could see this engine first hand.

Unless there's a vacuum leak. I've seen bad brake calipers act like a subtle engine lack of power. No codes? Timing belt slip a tooth or two?
