Hi all, I have a 16 SHO pretty stock except for a CAI. Couple days ago I was traveling about 80-85 and out of nowhere the car was loosing power and decelerating on its own (bogging down) It lasted a few seconds and returned to normal. During the same drive it did it again and lasted for a few more seconds. After that it seemed fine. The car hasn’t done it since. I’m throwing this out there hoping to see if anyone might now what was going on.
Thanks in advance.

No flukes - it wont go away on its own, get Forscan and an ODB connector and start pulling codes and history.

no codes as in no check engine light, or no codes as in scanner comes up empty? just asking because many times it is assumed that every codes pops the light ...

typical of an electronics type behavior tho, intermittent. recheck your cai and map sensors to start.

No codes as in no check engine light at all. I plan on hooking it up and running a scan to see what’s going on. My other hurdle is I think ForScan is windows based and I have a Mac

check engine lights come on only for serious situations. computer controlled vehicles set way too many codes to harass the driver with lol. thats why the obd scanner is an essential tool for the modern toolbox.

forscan lite is available for android and ios. you should be able to get it directly from the apple store whatever they call it now. i unfortunately am on android so i have to buy direct.

recommend at minimum veepeak bluetooth but for full fledged you will need something like the obdlink mx+. you can use bluedriver if you don't mind being tied to their proprietary software.

Thank you, I’m definitely looking into this

Another vote for obdlink MX+. Seems to be the best one I have used and I really like that it auto powers up and down so I can leave it plugged into my car. Does cost about $140 now. I got mine a number of years ago for less.

I had something similar happen, it started as an oddity and then became more frequent and concerning eventually throwing a misfire code. ended up being injectors, what kind of miles are on it? injectors ever been done? I also support getting forscan, mine was so hit and miss I drove around for 2 months sporadically hooking up the scanner checking fuel vitals to see if I could catch a drop, plugs were fine (another thing to check) and nothing was obvious, when I did catch it i replaced the effected injector and it was fixed until the rest of the dominos fell and i just replaced all of them.

I wont type out the entire saga here but definitely start with forscan, between stored codes and live stats it is well worth the small investment especially as your SHO ages. good luck!
