Alright people I an in need of help because I still have this clunking coming from the front end when going around a turn and hitting a bump. I have replaced the follwing:
steering rack
strut mounts
strut rod bushings
sway bar end-links (with the plastic one's)
I didn't get this noise until I had my wheel bearings replaced about six months ago. The suspension was rebuilt a little over two years ago with the following:
Eibachs
Tokicko
aluminium sfb's
poly sway bar bushings
Baer brake kit
I would also like to know if the rear Ford ( bought from Ford but they are Clevite) replacement poly (it is red and definitely not rubber) strut rod bushings need the washer? They already have a metal sleeve inserted in them and the outer rear look like they have washer but are molded in the bushing. The stock rubber bushing looks like it needs the washer to keep it pressed against the rod while the sleeve in the poly seems to take the place of the washer. Also the poly bushing measures the same lengthwise by itself compared with the stock Ford rubber bushing and washer when used together. The mechanic who installed them says that the washer should not be used with them because it would mess up the alignment by pushing the wheel farther back so he put them in there without the washer. He did put the washer in front of the rubber bushing that goes in the front part of the strut rod though. Any help is appreciated.
