my rpm tach is sticky when its raising and lowering rpm. what would be the cause of this?

this is for the 3.2 engine

Does anyone know how to take off the trunk & fuel release latch by the drivers seat?

When you say sticky, do you mean it jumps? Instead of being a smooth needle, it jumps a few hundred RPM at a time?

The only thing I can suggest is check the connector at the coil pack. When I put my remote starter in, the manual said the grey/yellow wire on the coil pack was the AC voltage for the tach.

Other than that, I don't know.

As stated I would check the DIS connections first.

You will need a phillips head and you need to remove the lower plastic trim that the seat belt runs through.

Then you can remove the push pin that holds the trunk/fuel cover in place.

The next step is to remove the 2 big phillips head screws that hold the metal bracket containing the 2cables and the lock.

If needed, you can now remove the cable ends 1 at a time.
