Looks great, but what happened to the "-TEMP+" button illumination?

If it were me, I would paint it brown and put two vertical white strips on each side (make it look like a football!). :nut:

Chrome_rust,

What's the status of your project? When you get it all figured out, please PM me. I would like to talk to you a bit more about having one made for my car. Thanks.

looks good and is much more practical than putting a stereo in the console like i did. plus all the extra crap that is needed to run the head unit back to the trunk is a pain, also which it looks like you've already done that with the receiver in the ash tray already.
i wanted to try my hand at it but don't have enough experience to mold a new opening.

Yea that is a great setup...best I have seen. I just got a 1998 sho and i was looking to put my aftermarket stereo in it but little did i know that there is almost NO WAY to do it in the sho because of the climate control. Definately keep us posted on what you are doing with this.

Well if Crome-rust finish succesfully this stereo upgrade (wich I think He'll do it :hail: ) you may be one of the lucky persons that won't need to wait an eternity to replace the crappy stock radio. I'been wanting to do it for more than 4 year but unfortunatly my limited knowlege on electronics didn't let me go more than cutting the football face and couple more things.
Good luck Crome-rust. :thumb:

this might seem like a silly idea, but what about snagging an EATC from a 96+ lincoln continnental and then making the 'football' into a double DIN?

I always thought that was the way to go if I got a G3. I imagine you might need hte lincoln BDA and BCM though....

Personally I just went out and got one of those little deals that hook up to your rear 6x8's with RCA's on it and threw a big amp and my subs in. My stereo is louder than about anyone else's around where I live and I use a portable CD player/tape combo! (CD changer doesn't work)

that does seem like a good idea. i dont believe you would need the body control module for this sorta thing, being as i am pretty sure that all the required logic is contained inside the actual hvac controls themselves. i am going to be building something like this for my fiero, and i dont believe it will take up much space.

maybe i should look up how the hvac controls work on a lincoln.....

If I remember correctly, this had been debated before and the conclusion was that it would not be compatible. Of course no one thought that anyone would be able to make an install kit either, so who knows.

Charlie,
Do you have all the bugs worked out? What ever happened to the temp buttons issue?
