Steering Rack woes

My '97 is in the shop,with a clunking steering rack. The dealer says that they can replace it with a reman unit...
My question to you guys... Does the SHO and the SLO share the same steering rack? I would tend not to think so.

They won't be doing the work, until my aftermarket warranty co. ok's it... I'm sure as **** not paying almost $800 to fix it.
And the warranty co. says they will have an answer within 2-4 days...

Considering that Gen 3 SHOs use a ZF rack and pinion setup, I'd have to say no.

That's what i thought... For ***** and giggles, I called around to a couple diff. Ford parts departments... $623 for a rack.

Nice! I just got off the phone with the Service Writer. The warranty company covered the reman rack. Hopefully, by next week, the car will be clunk-free . burn_out beer
