Im having a weird bumping/wobbling in the steering wheel. It seems to kind of bounce back and forth an inch or so. It seems to worsen some when turning (left and right). Now when i say bounce i mean it feels moderatly forced(reminds me of pinball:frown: ). I checked the fluid and its full but black and grimey. Aaronsbiza and i are going to flush the fluid this weekend. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and, how do i fix it. I have read all the posts on the steering (i think) and haven't seen this listed. Also i've fell it at all speeds.(ive only had it up to 65-70)(its a new car to me so im not pushing it)

Having said this im used to driving an 03 vibe. So maybe its just me. But i definatly feel something.

Thx for any help guys and gals ;)

You can try flushing your P/S system to get the burnt fluid out and replacing it with clean fluid but don't hold your breath on that fixing it.The steering rack may need to be replaced.
Since it started getting colder outside this past week I also have that same binding/high effort feel when turning to the left but it goes away once car warms up.I tried flushing it too,but problem is still there, going to replace rack and pinion in it next weekend.I think someone once told me that GM came out with some kind of additive to help fix concerns like this but I never seen nor confirmed if there truely is such a additive.

If you are describing an uneven feedback or pulsation in the steering wheel, especially when making turns (an interstate on ramp is a good example), you have a bad rack.
