When I turn my steering wheel to the left or right I hear a slight squeaking noise. Not a whine, grinding, or popping noise. If I turn the wheel very slowly I don’t hear the noise. If I turn it at a regular speed I hear the noise. It almost sounds like something is sliding against something else. Effort to turn the wheel is normal. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!

On the MN12 platform (89-97 T-bird and Cougar) that was the steering shaft rubbing against the rubber seal in the firewall. Check where it goes through the firewall, spray it with some silicone, and see if that helps.

What did the squeaking end up being? I have the same issue.
