stearing shimmy?

My 94 ATX has a shimmy in the steering wheel that seems to be getting worse. does not feel like the car is moving but the steering wheel sure is . any ideas?

I assume it shakes while driving. When was the last time you had your tires balanced.

actually I just had a horrible shake/shimmy in my steering wheel around 50mph and when stopping. it was the outter tie rod ends... it fixed it perfectly. and all for 35 dollars!

Does it shimmy under power or braking? Under braking, check for warped rotors. Under power have the wheels and tires rotated amd rebalanced. I also had 1 Taurus that had a bad steering rack that would pulsate, the wires on the controler on the rack were broken off.
