starter removal question

hey guys just wondering if the starter has 3 bolts....or 2 and a "threaded rod " ?? it looks like a bolt had its head snapped off but i herd about a "threaded rod" that acts like a bolt in a another post and iwas wondering how you remove the starter ..i have a ATX soo is it easy to remove it from the car ??

any help would be great guys...i gotta give these steps to my dad as he will be doing this job while im in school this week....and im picking my car up friday !

2 bolts hold starter. 1 bolt has the ground cable on it. remove the 15mm nut to get off ground wire, then take out the 2 13mm bolts holding starter.

yea, what Pete said.

Yes, it is easy. I did mine last year. Starting the bolts is usually the hardest part when replacing the starter. I removed my oil filter to get some extra clearance, but I think it can be done if you leave it in.

It's easy, but annoying after 4 times.... at least thats my feeling.

Haha, I agree. You bought the Duralast starter also? I got down to being able to change mine in a parking lot in 15 mintues.

Yeah I did... I finally got my money back and bought an autolite starter & relocated my oil filter
