The older Chilton's manual has an excellent set of wiring schematics. In fact, just yesterday, they helped me locate the burned wire when I accidentally grounded the alternator power supply lug on the block during a radiator replacement. Disconnet the battery first! It also had excellent information about the location and appearance of the fusible links. Amazingly, the wire blew before the link did.
The positive battery cable attaches to the lower rear terminal on the relay along with all of the other smaller cable lugs except the ignition lead which has a unique head to slip on the screw post. These lugged leads are the power supply cables to everything else on the car other that the starter The large gauge black cable to the starter is the only cable landed on the upper forward terminal.
