Hi All. 95ATX 100k, Starter went bad so I bought a new one from NAPA, after installing that one and starting, no luck, the starter just spun not enganging the flywheel. I figured I got a bunk starter so I returned it and got a new one. I installed the new one today and have the same exact problem.

Any suggestions? Do I have another bad starter?

Make sure you count the # of teeth on the original and the one you are trying to install. Make sure there the same.

bench test it. use a set of jumper cables. put starter on ground, hold with foot. tap positive cable on solenoid. see if gear comes foward. I bet you got a bad starter. try another store!
