Does any one know the correct number of teeth on the starter for a 95 MTX? I had it rebuilt when doing a clutch job and now it clatters a loudly when I start the car. The gear now is a 10 tooth.
Thanks, stockblue95mtx

I'm pretty positive that the proper tooth count on a 95 starter is 12 tooth. Somebody else will chime in soon to confirm or disprove. Are the teeth on your flywheel worn?

Teeth don't look bad but now are banged up on the engagement side. I have another flywheel to put in but would rather not and definitely do not want to ruin it if I have the wrong # of teeth on the starter. I've read either the 10 or 12 tooth will work, but this doesn't really make sense from a gear center and tooth size standpoint. Gears with more teeth should be a larger OD assuming the tooth size is the same.- stockblue95mtx
