Well on my 90 the top is a 13mm hex head about 1.5 long. The bottom is a 13mm nut on stud with a 15mm nut on top of that to hold the wiring. I would guess about 1.5 long into the bell and another 1 above the nut. Hope this helps.

cool, one more question. on the bolt that holds the wireing for the starter, is there a nut that goes on the part that threades through the tranny. Theres a 13mm nut on the bolt before the wireing and a 15 mm that goes over it but once i thread it threw the tranny there dosnt seem to be room for another bolt on the end. Is it supposed to lock into place or am i useing the wrong bolt.

On the left are the bolts that connect the oilpan to the trans case. On the right are the bellhousing to starter bolts and the 15mm nut. Hope this helps.
