Was driving down the road and the car stalled for a few seconds the started back up. I drive an mtx so I just kinda let it roll in 5th. Another ten miles down the road it stalled again, no restart though. I sat for ten minutes and it started back up and off I went. No more did I get back up to cruising speed it shut off again. It just cranks now and here I sit.

Classic symptoms of a failing crank sensor (CPS). It doesn't take much coolant to short it out.

I might be wrong, But my car did the EXACT same thing from texas to CA... And I never put coolant in mine either. Might have just started today or could be something else.

yea well I was going to say a ground issue OR just give that CCRM a slap to reset the relays. Sometimes they just need a slap! lol

Leaky water pump you say... lol. It did it again today. So I ordered a new water pump. Crank position sensor should be ok?

Get a new CPS too. It's probably already messed up, and while you are tearing the front apart, it's always good to change CPS.

I was expecting a follow-up post like this. I haven't heard of a DIS causing a stall, unless a plug was loose or something.

Since you're gonna have to pull the front end of the engine apart, you should really consider doing the entire front 60k maintenance - water pump, cam seals, front main seal, timing belt, crank position sensor, and cam position sensor. Accessory belts are optional.

LOL Im waiting on my Thanks and Rep Points please. lol :)

Happy to see you are getting the parts to fix. I also agree you need to do the CPS as its a pain to get to. Depending on the last time a T-belt was put in it throw that in and with the crank pullie off id do a new front main for safety. :D

I was hoping for the opposite reply lol. I'm laid off right now and the cash is a little tight. How much of a pain in the ass is the water pump?
