I just ordered the crank udp from sho source, and i was just wondering what the difference felt like. I know the main reason for this is to save accessories but want valid info on any type of possible performance gain.

Its a solid improvement. Likely worth a few HP and more with other mods.

I have one and will vouch for their quality.

Do they contribute to main bearing wear due to the lack of the rubber dampener?

The answer is "maybe". I guess no one really knows for sure, but obviously the dampener is there for a reason. Like I said, mine is just okay - I put it in during a motor swap so I have no idea if it made any difference.

Get the car up on jack stands, pull the wheel and the fender liner, pull the 2 belts off. Next remove one of the front 3 plugs and stuff some rope into the cylinder. Once this is done got the right size socket, should be 18 or 19?, and turn the crank over till it hits the cylinder with the rope in it and locks the crank in place, CAREFULLY remove the bolt, they can be really tight. If gets stuck there are ways to get them out, been there done that. Use a bar puller to remove the old pulley with 2 bolts, M8xsomething (i think). Install new pulley, it may require some LIGHT tapping to seat it enough for the bolt to go in. Then torque the bolt WITH A TORQUE WRENCH TO AROUND 120ft/lbs.. If you fail to torque it correct your motor will explode and **** baby kittens. The re-install belts, fender liner, and tire, remove rope, and re-install the plug and go!

Much of the process is shown here, and with some pics however you will have to skip some of the steps. Duh. Lol

I have the Shoshop version and noticed right away that it revs quicker. Been on for 11 years and no problems, and can't say there are any downsides.

Quick question for you guys that have one, how much faster does it rev down? I've been thinking about getting one so I don't have to wait so long to shift

I'm sure it some, never payed much attention honestly. Its a few pound lighter than the stock one, but nothing like the 4-13 lbs you can remove from the flywheel.

Sho Source gives gatorback part numbers. I was wondering if you guys used any other belts instead of the ones they gave part numbers for?

On supercharged cars, the lack of dampening with the underdrive pulley, combined with higher loads (e.g. from supercharging) appears to lead to vibrational fatigue and eventual failure of the crankshaft. No cases I have ever heard of from running these on non-supercharged SHO V6s.

Doubt it effects the mains, as they are supported on a hydrodynamic film of oil which has its own dampening effects.
