Why can't you put non SHO lowering springs on a SHO again? ANd how does a 98-99 without SARC compair in ride to the 96-97 with SARC? With the system deactivated on my 97, the struts are pretty stiff. When activated, the suspension is a mushy pile of rags. Does the 98-99 mix between the two?

'98 SARC is the same as the earlier SHOs. Only the '99 does not have it.

The Eibachs have a too low of spring rate and the difference has to be made up with very good struts. Konis work so-so but definitely better than anything else.

But the Eibachs are no longer available I believe.

The Non-SARC of the late 98-99 SHOs has a firmer ride than the soft setting on the SARC struts.

There's information at v8sho.com that talks about wiring up a switch to turn the SARC on/off whenever you want. I've never done it to my SHO but it would come in handy. Personally I'd turn SARC off while cruising on a highway and leave it on while driving in town due to potholes and bumps in the road and such.

I put one in. I tend to use it when driving ******* back roads. Otherwise I leave the SARC on.

Yeah, i pulled the fuse about amonth ago. I love the ride now. Was way too soft with SARC on. Took a week to get used to the lack of steering, but its all good now. Finally lowered the front using the strut in the knuckle trick. Lowered it just enough to match fender gap in the rear. Still rides 4x4 high, but looks better with matching gap... I gotta get those tires in the fenderwell!!!

slowshow, put the fuse back in and just unplug the struts and then the ps will still work correctly and the struts will be in stiff mode.

If I were you I would just install a switch and have SARC on and off at the flip on a switch and keep the Power Steering unmolested. :sun:

Thats how I have it and I love it.:naughty:

Since I lowered the front with the knuckle, I did put the fuse back in. I have power steering again, but SARC is still off. Only thing I can think of is the computer sees that the front is riding almost an inch lower and has stiffened the struts. OK by me. Stiff ride, even wheel gap, and power steering. What more could I ask for? Oh yeah, another car. Pulled everything back out of it this week. Going on craigslist and autotrader next week. And now the front rubs the fender a little bit because of the giant tires on the car...
