Ok, So I've got two SHO's. An 89 and a 95. Suspension wise both are stock with the exception of the struts. the 89 were replaced, and they look like monroes, not really sure. The 95 has KYB's.

Anyhow I found that the 89 has the 200lb springs, and I knew it had the biggest sway bars. The 95 has the tiny sway bars, and from my research the standard taurus 155 lb springs. That explains why it is much more floaty and soft.

I like how my 89 feels, and drives, it's firm but not uncomfortable.

I also seem to notice the 95 has more room in the front wells than the 89, or so it seems, and I want to lower it.

I'm curious what kind of ride quality I would get from the intrax springs, as I know very little about them. Eibachs are too expensive if you can find them, and I have them and koni's on my Daytona Shelby Z and it rides very very firm, almost uncomfortable sometimes.

Will it be closer to the Daytona or 89 SHO stock springs or ? I have a set of new monroe sensatracs that I'll use with what ever springs I get. I plan on getting the bigger sway bars as well. I'm on the fence between the intrax to lower the car a bit, or just finding some stock 200lb SHO springs.

I have had Stock, Eibach, Intrax, and now Ground Control coilovers all mounted on either monroe's, Tokico's, and Koni's.

Intrax definitely ride a little rougher then Eibach's simply because they lower the vehicle more and must have a stiffer spring rate. On many occasions a set of Eibach's will actually raise the ride height on a SHO depending on the condition/age of the current suspension, especially the rear. Eibach's will ride close to stock and only lower the car 1" MAX, probably more like .5", the Intrax will ride a little bit more "firm" but give it a more aggressive look. A lot of the ride will depend on the condition of your struts as well.

I am currently running a Koni/Intrax set up. The ride is definatly rougher than the stock set up. I have riden in a few cars with Eibach/Sensitrac set ups...the ride comfort is better than the intrax, but handling isnt as good (still better than stock). Intraxs are going to be alot harder on your struts, so I dont know how long your sensitracs would last with them. It really depends on what kind of comfort trade off you want to make for perfomance. If you r looking for better handling I would suggest running a different swaybar set up (I run a 26 rear/20 front combo) and getting a set of subframe connectors.

I already have planned on getting the larger front and rear sway bars. I may just get a set of 200 lb sho springs. The eibachs are just too expensive if you can find them. Truth is I really want the front lower too, I hate the space in the wheel well, but I will never cut springs. All the little hondas I see that have done that pogo around like mad and I am not into that. Which is why I had wondered about the intraxs.

My 89 Sho or the Daytona feel like the whole car is moving as a unit, where as sometimes on my 95 it feels like all the wheels are doing different things, or where the roads are not super smooth the car will just start feeling floaty where as the other cars don't. I'm not good at explaining it. It just feels really soft, and reminds me of the lack of control I felt in my grandmas monster 77 cadiallac.

Go with a larger rear bar first, then decide what you want to do with the front bar. A smaller bar on the front will increase oversteer, but you need to find out what size front bar you have first.

Check my signature for a link to my tech pages.

I have a page all about MOOG CC Springs.

They will cure all your problems :)

Ive been running the Moog/Monroe sensatrac combo for more than 60k mile now. It is GREAT.

koni/intrax the ride is very stiff of course i have the koni's set to full firm but some times its a lil stiff for daily driving but by far better handling and less floaty. Coilovers way firm!!! i drove a sc300 with coilovers i thought my teeth were going to break when i went over a bump. i also have a 21mm/26mm setup for sways, ALSFB and a RSTB which makes it pretty firm next SFC and FSTB!!

You will get tired of the Intrax after a few trips down the 14 freeway.

I know I was in my Tokico/Intrax 95. My dad did not like it either, Tho it did handle great.

My dads Blue 95 SHO has Koni/Eibachs, He said the ride is MUCH better then the 95's.

I would go for the eibachs but the cost is way out of line. I'm not dropping $1000 on springs. I'm most likely just going to get some 200lb SHO springs and the 24 & 26 sway bars, and some new bushings to tighten things up. Your dad has a blue 95? is it a mtx? I would **** to find a clean unmolested moonlight blue 94-95, but never come across any out here.

I'm assuming you think they cost that much because of the SHOSource price. They are only listed at that price because the springs have been discontinued and are not available new through our vendors. If you browse the classifieds (WTB ads work well) or score some from another individual off ebay you could pick up a set for under $300, they were no more than $250ish before being discontinued.

FWIW, I'm about to do my suspension as well. I haven't decided yet, but I'll probably end up with Koni/Intrax since that's what's available without raising my car's ride height. I'd consider the SS coilovers but they aren't out yet and they are more expensive - I won't be tracking my car (MAYBE once a year) so I don't feel they're necessary. Eibachs would be the way to go if you can find them, I'm going to try but I'll probably end up with Intrax, especially since SS has a good sale on them right meow.

I have the Moog CC's in my SHO with sensatracs all the way around.

I didn't touch the rear springs but the front ones I cut one coil off the top.

It sits low enough to keep me happy and the ride is great.

I also have the 24/26 sway bars....it is a combo I really like.

Since when are Eibachs 1,000 Dollars? You can find a set on the Forum that are used for like 150-200 bucks. They were only 220 dollars brand new.

Also, Yes he does have a Blue 94. (Not a 95, D'oh!). He sold his Silver 95 ATX that he bought from doug...uhh..back do Doug (SHOtimer). He now drives a Moonlight Blue 94 3.2 MTX. Its on Gen III Chromies and has a nice Laundry list of Mods. You may see it sometime if you ever venture to Lancaster/Palmdale.

I'm in Palmdale Now. Nice!
I based the price on sho source, and since they are now an obsolete part, I am sure people on here are not going to give them away cheap.

Tell your Dad to keep his eyes open for a green 95, with dark tinted windows. I am hoping to get it repainted soon, I've been trying to get all the mechanical stuff done first, and got the interior looking pretty sharp too. Also keep his eyes open for the goldish 89.
