I was curious if anyone can comment on the springs used with the SARC struts. Are they any different from the standard Taurus springs? Also, does anyone have part number information and/or suitable replacements in the aftermarket?

Thanks!

The only difference is for the V8 which is a higher inital load of about 100lbs.

Eibach did make springs but no more. We are working on a set though.

if you find a set of eibachs, pass em up...the stance is beautiful, but ride quality absolutely blows.

Thanks for the input - does anyone by chance have the Ford part numbers? I'm trying to set aside all the suspension parts I will need in advance.

I'm looking for the stock replacement part numbers. For some reason they are not in any of the lists I've perused and the parts houses don't show them on their diagrams, they just say "Order by year and code". Whereabouts does one find the proper spring code?

Since I have a set of NIB SARC struts :omgsho: , I figured it would be best to find a set of NIB Ford/Motorcraft springs to go with them. If an aftermarket set of springs will function equally I would be interested to know about that too...

Further investigation has been helpful - My door code is MM55, which leads me to the part numbers

Front - MAD
Rear - JAR

It appears that the list prices on the Ford springs aren't terrible compared to aftermarket, unless they have gone up without warning. Sometimes the online catalogs are misleading as to current price.

Well, I was able to find a pair of the front springs (code MAD). It looks like the two rears that are normally paired with them (JAR and ***) are both unavailable. Has anyone ever mixed and matched on a set before? I know the later cars that still had SARC (98) used LET on the rear, though paired with HIM (which both have a lower load/rate).

Since I'm not as informed on suspension related items, can anyone suggest a good read that explains the effects that the various springs would have on the ride?

All the Ford Taurus springs for the Gen 3 have the same amount of coils and the spring rate is the same. What is different is the length. The longer the spring the higher capacity.
