Hi guys. I tried the search function to no avail on this one. I own a 91 mtx with nothing more than full maintenance and a sho plus shifter(hood was junk on the car). however, now I need a passenger side spindle and I need to know if I can use a gen 2 spindle to replace it with. My wheel bearing is torched and all I can come up with the money for is a junkyard replacement. so I was wondering if all taurus/sable spindles are interchangeable? The yards have crushed all their old stuff and now all that is available is a couple of 94/95 taurus/sable spindles.

Yes, BUT, you will also need the calipers, brackets, pads, and rotors from a 94/95 in order to use the knuckles.

if im not mistaken the 89-93 spindles r the same

but yes u can use a taurus/sable spindle or even the taurus wagon spindle....only difference is some of the taurus/sable spindles dont have the abs tab........not sure if the 1st gen SHO's had ABS or not so that may not b a problem with u

if ur doin one and u got the spare cash id suggest doin the 96 brake upgrade........deffinatlly worth the money IMHO...........theres a sticky over in the wheel and brakes upgrade sction if u need more info on it......... :thumb:

if u did get one off a 94 ull need the calipers, brakets, pads, and rotors as Mr. Anonymous said but dont forget the bracket bolts eather .......:thumb:

already replaced it with p/n 520000, and yes the studs are shorter
the yards only had non abs spindles, I couldn't justify it for saving only $25.Now its time to check on this 96 brake upgrade
