speedometer is spazzing out

from 0 to 35 my speedometer needle shakes after that its fine, the car doesnt shake, is this a tranni problem or is the speedo cable got something wrong with it? 1994 mtx sho 142K, clutch is getting soft

Mine is having the same trouble. My speedometer needle shakes from 0 to about 40-50ish, but it works fine on freeway. I got used to it, so it doesn't bother me anymore, but I'd like to know how to fix that as well. Anyone?

most likely either your upper or lower speedo cable.

mine does the same but only if i drive for a while seems like the cable get hot and starts to jump

Usually if it only happens in a certain range of speeds it's a bad speedo and when it happens across the board or totally randomly it's a worn cable or occasionally a worn VSS.
