I was having trouble removing my Speedometer gear. I was told to use a screw drive and try to pry it out or to open the case and hit it out with a hammer... but I had a better idea

It just an adapter that i made for the speedometer to fit onto a slide hammer. It took the gear out very very easy. The only draw backs to it was that the intake had to come off and the shaft of the slide hammer was too short. I just got a piece of threaded rod to make it longer. Anyway I was going to make a couple more in anyone was interested. Thanks

What thread size/pitch did you tap into the adapter rod for the tranny gear housing to screw into? I'm thinking about making a similar tool.

I removed the VSS and looked at its female thread.. it's a strange size, maybe M18? It's slightly smaller than 3/4" (19mm).

Thanks!

sunny San Juan Bautista,
Would have liked one of those when I removed mine. And that's with the tranny apart. Really old thread but clever work anyways. I don't remember reading this thread back then, too bad.
