Speedo not working after new instrument gauges

Ok, I was in the process of replacing my odometer cluster face plates on my 95 MTX, and the gas, temp, and tach needles came off fine. But I couldn't get the speedometer gauge to come off, so I just left it on. After putting it back together I noticed that the speedometer didn't work any longer, just barely bounced around but I know I was going faster than it said. I did spray a little, little, wd40 on it to try and get it off, but to no avail.
All the other gauges work fine, and the odometer works, but not the speedometer?
Any tips or suggestions?
