speed sensor

hi i got a 91 sho and i was wondering how to change the speed sensor can anybody help me?

the vss sits on top of the trans, where the speedo cable attaches.
remove the speedo cable, remove the wire connector to the vss. there is a nut that attaches the vss to the top of the trans, you need to remove that. then the vss just slips off. assembly is reverse.

Its a pretty simple job, but is sorta frustrating to do with the wires and such that will make it harder to get to and see what your doing.

you just pull it up. it is held in place with a hairpin type of spring clip - it just snaps over the notch in the end of the cable, so you just pull on the cable to release it.

I am having a hard time locating the assembly. Can anyone explain or post a diagram/picture of the location? Thanks

follow the speedometer cable down to where it attaches to the trans.

a pic is difficult because its hidden under a couple bundles of wiring, a few coolant hoses and assorted other stuff. its hard to find for the same reasons.
