Speaker Question.

I have a 94" SHO with the JBL premium sound. I DON'T have the factory subs. Did the person I bought it from remove them or were their never any their to begin with? Just wondering because everyone is always talking about the factory subs and I don't have Factory Subs. boink

youre sure you dont have the sub? a ********* box hanging from the rear deck in the center? you cant miss it. if not, then sorry bro, yours was removed. as far as i know, 93-95 all had the premium package with a factory sub. but hey, take this as an opportunity to treat yourself to a better aftermarket one thumbs_u

Believe it or not, there was a premium sound option without subwoofer. Different speakers and (perhaps) a different amplifier. Mine came that way, and I have spoken with several owners whose SHOs also came that way. I've also seen a few in person.

On the bright side, this means you have a lighter SHO than others

I also have a '93 that came without the factory sub. I added a Kenwood head unit and it sounds killer without it.

My '90 has the JBL audio system and no sub. In the rear deck, though, there are four speakers, two on each side. I have a sub back there; just haven't hooked it up yet.

So I'm just one of those "LUCKY" ones then huh? So where do they get mounted at? O'm trying to find the best way to put in my after markets. Is it in place of one of the others or is screwed in inbetween the other two speakers? If so HOW.

Ok lets clear this up a bit:

GEN II SHO's came with either the premium stereo that had four speakers and no sub or they came with the JBL stereo that had four JBL speakers and a 6.5 inch sub mounted in the rear deck between the two 6x8 speakers. The JBL system has two amps...one for the speakers and one for the sub. My 94 came with the JBL but it was an option.

GEN I SHO's could also be had with JBL systems but they used two rear deck mounted subs...I forget the size. Anyway, there is information available on SHOtime here...
