I was thinking of replacing my spark plugs. I think they are original and I have 122,000 miles. I was thinking of the factory wires or the taylor wires. What do you guys think?? I can buy the talyor wires from summit for around $75.00. Were is the cheapest place to buy the ford wires. I called a dealer and they wanted $304.00.

OH you didn't know
Ford parts network has good prices on spark plug wires for the Motorcraft ones. If you are a cheapskate like me :D ...Autozone ultraspark $49.99 with a lifetime warranty. Use the search feature as this has been covered a lot. thumb

It's been awhile since I've checked, but SHOnut offers the wires for $85 delivered. Keep in mind that it has been proven that the MTX wires will fit on the ATX. No need to buy the more expensive ATX wires.

Not any more, infact he lists the ATX wires cheaper then the MTX wires.
www.fordpartsnetwork.com has the best price for the motorcraft wires.

OK, First you need to pull off a plug wire and see if it's covered in oil. If not, fine.

If so, save up for a 60K and replace the wires then. No sense in trashing new wires with oily spark plug wells.

Either way, at 122K a 60k should be done.

sunny San Juan Bautista,
Taylor wires are one of the few aftermarket wires that seem to work well for our cars. Back when Motorcraft stock wires were $83 from FPN I favored them. Now that the price has gone up to $99 I think it's time to explore the other options out there. Just avoid the cheap brands available at autoparts stores. They probably won't pass the test of time.

Looks like I got in just before the raised their price, I just bought mine less then a month ago and they were still $83.99. $99 bucks still isn't to bad.

I just replaced valve cover gaskets and plug seals becuause they were leaking oil. Plug wires did have oil on them. I cleaned them and reused for time being. Car seems to run ok.
